Why I Built This
I've tracked my workouts using spreadsheets for years — plus Garmin for training data and MyFitnessPal for food. I’ve always been someone who learns by seeing patterns, so tracking was the only way I could figure out what was working (and what wasn’t).

📊 Before — my spreadsheets
When progress stalled or injuries popped up, I’d paste my training logs into ChatGPT and ask it to help me make sense of the data. It actually worked — I got new ideas and better adjustments. But it was clunky: copying back and forth between spreadsheets, tools, and videos every week.
But the whole thing was chaotic - spreadsheets over here, videos buried in my camera roll, different apps for tracking, and me trying to piece it all together every week.
And even with all that tracking, I still felt like I was training alone.
That’s what pushed me to build Roses & Lumber.
I didn’t just want a smarter spreadsheet.
I wanted a place where your training lives - and where the people you trust can actually see it and support you. A way to work out together, even when you’re not in the same place.

🚀 After — Roses & Lumber App
Here’s what the app actually does:
- Lets you log every set (including video) without juggling five apps
- Shows your history for each movement so you know if you’re progressing
- Gives a simple post-workout breakdown
- And the big one:
Your workouts show up in your Pod - a small group of friends or training partners who hold you accountable and cheer you on.
Nothing performative.
No broadcasting to strangers.
Just “hey, I see you showed up today.”
That part was missing for me, and I figured I couldn’t be the only one feeling it.
If you lift consistently (or want to), I’d love for you to try it.
